for the love of carbs

i love carbs. pasta in particular but potatoes and rice aren’t far behind. as a runner, carbs are my fuel. at least that’s what i earn the right to pretend they are rather than a mere gluttonous addiction. but now, not running, i find myself worrying about giving into my frequent french fry cravings and an ingrained need for starchy side dishes with every meal. i already have a problem with body image. come on, i’m a woman, it’s almost a given i do. but it’s been a long time since i’ve felt a need to watch what i eat. years ago i dropped a few extra pounds ~ ok, about 30 of the damn little things ~ and i’ve managed to keep them off through lifestyle and diet changes. a large part of which included running.

thankfully at this point in my life i’m a pretty healthy eater just out of taste preference but even a whole wheat pasta primavera with loads of steamed veggies can pack a punch onto the old thighs ~ especially with an extra sprinkle or two of fresh grated romano. yum. so for now the penne is put aside and the lasagna forsaken.

for the love of carbs someone please put me back together again so i can run!

    Don’t stress about the carbs too much- life is too short to for go a good plate of pasta šŸ™‚
