i should be committed

i did it. i committed to running the gasparilla half marathon on feb. 27. with free entry dangled in my face i couldn’t resist the temptation. as of now the plan is to NOT attempt to PR but we all know that i tend to be a bit of a competitive self-masochist so i can’t promise anything. i’ll be pacing with b3 and her mom who is coming down for the race and the rough goal is right at two hours. which really isn’t that far from my 1:57:00 pr … and my 9:15 paced 10-miler the other day isn’t really that much slower than the 8:54s i’d need to hit … and there are still four weeks to train … oh man, who am i kidding?! bring it on!

Look at it this way — a few months ago you weren’t running at all. Now you’re about to run 13.1 miles. That in itself is amazing for you. And if you PR well…that’s just a lot of really amazing frosting on the cake. 🙂
