asics gel landreth 6 27.5 miles ~ wore my old shoes for my trail run sunday since it was raining and muddy!

a light, easy paced week to serve as half marathon recovery. physically i feel as though i am starting to get back into a decent routine. what, where and when are still a little random but at least the mileage is staying relatively consistent and it’s a number i’m ok with. ideally i’d like to get back up into the 20s which i easily foresee happening this week already. one thing that helps is that buns is getting back on the road. running with him has always been good for me. he keeps my pace easy (which i tend to be bad about sometimes), he listens to me bitch and his single-wanna-be-player-male-mentality humor cracks me up and just makes for a nice break in my oft too serious world.

this weekend i hope to get back on the bike. and maybe even back in the pool. i’m ready to try tri. hopefully neither will lead to too much additional discomfort. there’s still no huge break through on the pain front. some days i feel as though we are making baby steps but there’s also a part of me that is convinced that everyone is missing something. overlooking that one miracle poke, prod or pop that will put me back together.

either way i count my blessings that i am still on the road. i truly relish each step of every mile. now if i can just hold onto that feeling as we enter the hell of florida summer which is quickly approaching.

    Having a running buddy like that is ideal, I’m jealous!

    I’d be feeling the same way about healing – that there must be something they are missing that could fix you. I’m so glad your attitude is positive though, it seems to be really benefitting you as you run your half marathon or trail runs 🙂
