on the exercise front, this week was just about perfect! 25 miles of a mostly pain free run plus an 18 mile bike ride to test the hip. i had some ankle stuff going on saturday, the ride elicited a few weird twinges across the hip and off the run i still have pretty much constant discomfort but there seem to be more good days than bad lately! friday the chiro actually got movement from the L4/si joint. something we have never been able to do. her current thoughts are that mechanically i’m pretty stable. the hip is holding more and more and my alignment has been spot on for weeks. but muscularly there is a lot that won’t seem to let go. so i’m getting in to see LJ this week and hoping she can work her magic on my jacked up psoas and angry glutes.

on a personal front, life is in a crazy, exciting, nerve-wracking state. the house and move plans are going forward. my house is listed for rent. Qd ~ the friend who’s lease i’m taking over ~ and i met with her landlord on friday and he’s about as easygoing regarding the while thing as anyone could be. all he wants to ensure is that he doesn’t have down time. so now we just need to get my house rented, find Qd an apartment and transition as smoothly as possible. i’m prepared to pod my stuff for a few weeks and crash in someone’s guest room if necessary (ahem … i’m talking about you nyc girl ;)) but hopefully we can figure out the logistics of all the move-in and move-out timing so that doesn’t have to happen.

given my need to focus on the house stuff, dating is taking a back burner for a bit (not that it ever really is forefront in my life). surprisingly i’ve been spending more time with the knight versus the ironman though i still maintain that there is nothing remotely serious about it . the ironman frustrates me. he has no time to spare ~ or at least very little he seems willing to ~ and i’m about bored with trying to find an evening or two we can spend together. tuesday after the irish run, he suggested we blow off the standard after-run blue moon and pasta feast and go out to eat on our own and we had fun. i love spending time with him. he’s such a breath of fun fresh air. but between his day job which is high demand, his side business and his desire to really start training again, it seems the only freedom he’s allowing himself is tuesday nights and given i’m only kid free every other, it certainly doesn’t allow for much time to build a potential future foundation on. i’ll see him every other week at the irish run, and i hope that maybe we can get to know each other more in the process but outside of that the ball is in his court. i’m not above pursuing a man but there has to be some chase as well.

all in all, i’m feeling really good! i think this move is exactly what my life needs. changes do me well.

We guys are over-rated … things happen when they are supposed to happen.

On another note … I cannot believe how much running / exercise you get in, you must be in exceptional shape!

    Keep running cuz!

      i agree. men are over-rated 😉

outside of the kid and the career, exercise is my number one priority. of course i’d be in much better shape if i could quit wine and chocolate but a girl has to have some vices!

i need to use my foam roller more often! my biggest culprit seems to be my psoas though and i don’t know of a way to get to that myself. thank goodness for massage therapists!

Awesome job on the training! A 14 mile run AND a bike the next day? Jealous!

Sounds like Ironman is taking a similar approach to dating as you. I agree there has to be a chase — even if it’s a litte chase.
