it’s a small world afterall

do you think that everything happens for a reason? it’s a belief i try to hold onto and have faith in even though sometimes i find myself asking why! but it’s funny the way life works sometimes. be it fate. destiny. or merely a strange twist of luck.

over the weekend i showed my house to a ton of people. my anticipated tenants had gone MIA and i was in panic mode. sunday afternoon i gotย  a call from a guy inquiring about it. our conversation ended up being a little more than just the standard “yes it has four bedrooms. yes, a pool. available may 1.” it was by no means some long talk but by the time we hung up i knew he was a single dad of two girls; one right about sab’s age. has a very un-masculine dog (which led to laughter and joking between us). has been divorced for a year. works in the same industrial park my office was based out ofย  a few years ago when i was still with the newspaper. and more. it wasn’t long after that he called back asking if he could come see the house that evening. which of course i readily agreed to. i had to find a tenant asap so i was willing to show it at midnight if need be. i admit i had the fleeting fantasy that he would be cute and for a moment i considered actually touching up my makeup and changing into something a little more flattering than what i was wearing. but i was tired. stressed. and knew that with my luck he was going to be some toothless redneck or a 5’2″ scrawny little thing so i didn’t bother. but go figure, an hour later i opened the door to a 6-foot-tall, very attractive, well-built guy with the most amazing blue eyes. and i looked like crap. lesson learned. he liked the house but felt it was too small for his needs and he really didn’t seem to take notice of me in the least. he left and i sat there kicking myself in the ass.

yesterday afternoon i logged onto my match account. i’m in the last couple weeks of my subscription and given the move ~ and the fact that i’m still juggling the knight and the ironman ~ i figured it was about time to shut it down. but a profile caught my eye. not sure why. i can’t even say he looked familiar. but when i read it and looked a little closer, i realized that it was the house hunter. so on a chance i sent him an email. a light-hearted joke that the house was no longer available but i was. and within a couple of hours he wrote back.

we’re going out monday ๐Ÿ™‚

hahaha! you’re funny paul ๐Ÿ˜‰ everything may happen for a reason but i’m not one to sit around and wait for something to come of those reasons. i see something i like … i go after it. sometimes it backfires in my face. sometimes it works in my favor. but at least i’m not just sitting around wondering “what if”.

hope you’re feeling better and back to training!
