i really don’t even want to list miles for this week but i am determined to get back to a routine and this is part of it. maybe seeing how pathetically lazy i’ve been written down will give me that swift kick in the ass i need. life just hasn’t felt quite in rhythm. new house. new relationship. neither are necessarily easy to adjust to. not when you’re a creature of habit.

i’m definitely not used to the house yet. the bathroom is on the wrong side of the bed. my fridge opens opposite. half my work clothes are in the spare room. i don’t feel like i’m home yet i know i’m where i belong. it takes time i suppose. seven years in my old house and i could have maneuvered every inch of it blindfolded. now i reach for dishes and grab a glass. and try to tuck my kid in backwards. last week i even got part way to work before realizing that i still hadn’t dropped sab at school. but friday after work i met b3 in the woods and got in an 8-miler. nothing spectacular. it was slow. but it was just what i needed. it was familiar. and it reminded me that i’m still here.

this morning i still felt a little off but i managed to make my breakfast smoothie and actually remembered my lunch. i’ve got a tentative run schedule planned out for the week and even hope to make it to the gym (if i can still remember how to get there! ha!). and with any luck the rest of life will settle in around that. and though i’m not necessarily counting on that … i am back to counting miles.

Adjusting to all of the changes is so tough. But I can tell, you’re happier – more serene – something – it’s coming through in your writing.

I’m not going to lie, last week I felt so motivated -I got a great workout and run in on Monday and Tuesday…and that was it. Maybe some of your motivation and miles will rub off on me 🙂
