monday 3 miles ~ home tread in vibrams

tuesday off
wednesday tennis with the hunter
thursday 5 miles ~ island with b3
  3 miles gym tread
intervals ~ 1/2 mile warmup at 10mm, 5x400s at 7:45, 10mm cooldowns
saturday 8 miles ~ the flats ~ with sab biking
sunday off

weekly total miles run 19 bike 0 swim 0

since i’m slowly finding a rhythm again i figure i’ll fill you all in on my injury/issues. though i still deal with lingering pain, i rarely discuss it on here anymore. maybe because it seems almost fruitless. basically i’ve accepted that it is what it is and though there has been definite progress over the last couple of months i have, for the most part, come to realize that i will likely never be completely pain-free again.

the new chiro is convinced everything stems from my ankle. likely permanent scar tissue and damage done. a tendon inside the ankle right above the heel that, when stretched certain ways, simply won’t give what it should. the same tendon i trained through tendonitis in for MCM. the compensation asked from the other side. the gait changed. everything shifted.

through focus on ankle rehab the si joint pain has changed. i no longer constantly feel as though i need to “pop” something back in place. my hip however now pops more than ever. give and take i guess. sometimes there are sharp pains in my groin. sometimes the ankle screams. the psoas still won’t play nice. but i’m running through it. and it’s the rare day i even turn to advil.

there are still changes i have to make. somewhere in the new routine i need pilates back. yoga. stretching stretching stretching ! a runner’s bane but one i must learn to embrace. but if we can maintain going forward then it’s likely enough. not back together but not completely broken. maybe sometimes that’s all we can ask for.
