setting the goal

consistency. consistency. consistency. that’s all i’ve really wanted for so long. and i think i’m there ~ physically and mentally!

last week was
monday
gym with slowandsteady
tuesday 4 mile solo island run
wednesday off
thursday 5 mile run along the bay with the ironman + gym with slowandsteady
friday off
saturday 10 mile run along the bay ~ some with slowandsteady, some alone
sunday 1.6 mile island run with sab

20.6 miles of run. two cross training trips to the gym. physically i feel ok mentally i feel great! i know i’m still battling my body but i’m done letting it defeat me.

the gasparilla distance classic is in a week and a half. saturday is the 5k with sab. an easy day for me. sunday is the half and i’ve had a slight change of plans. the bunny doesn’t want me to pace her. she’s a runner not a racer. though she’d like to pr she feels no need to push. racing for her is about the experience. never about the time. and i’m the complete opposite. 13.1 miles side by side wouldn’t be pretty. and given she’s a 5th degree black belt in taekwondo, i think it’s far safer for me to simply run ahead. so now i’m running my own race and since i can’t run without a goal ~ three actually ~ here they are:

the acceptable ~ 2:09
the ideal ~ sub 2
the kick-ass dream ~ a PR (1:56:46 or faster)
