week of jan. 28

time to start keeping up on the weekly miles again. lots of goals with this for 2013. i did break the 100 mile mark for janaury (109 total!) which i celebrated! but the next two months need to be even stronger and i’m off to a good start. well sort of. the first two days of february ended up being down days ~ one planned. one failed. ~ but i did get in 18 on trails yesterday which was not only my longest run since coming back off the stress fracture but also my longest run in quite some time given my long runs during augusta training were only tens. and though i’m feeling it big time today, the run itself was absolutely picture perfect!

the bike and swim need to reenter this picture at some point but for the time being, until after the 50, my focus obviously needs to be the run.

last week’s total ~ 41 miles running

monday ~ 4 mile run. island with JP.
tuesday ~ 4 mile run. island with the realtor.
wednesday ~ 5 mile run. island with JP and the realtor.
thursday ~ 10 mile run. island and the bay with harry.
friday ~ off
saturday ~ off
sunday ~ 18 mile run. tc trails with the governor

18 miles? You should be pretty damn proud!!! I hope you’re spending quality time with a foam roller/stick today.

Is it warm enough down there to do open water swims or do you do your swims in the pool (maybe preferable anyway with all the creatures šŸ˜‰ )?

my stick was my bff yesterday evening and i fully expect to foam roll tonight. also going to schedule a massage. i’m thinking weekly until the race.

hahaha! oh hell no. i only swim in open water when it’s fully required. what i would give for a lake with no alligators! or an ocean with no sharks! i know i’ll have to work to get over that at some point but even so it’s been kind of chilly down here ~ thankfully. yesterday it was 37 when we started the run. perfect šŸ™‚
